Johns Island County Park – Mullet Hall (a Charleston County Park) is a large county park that offers walking trails, equestrian trails, an archery course, disc golf, dog park and so much more. It is a 10 minute drive from the Kiawah Island Gate and about 45 minutes from Charleston. We do suggest checking their website before going to make sure there is not a large event happening that day.
The Yellow Trail is a 2.4 mile trail that is extremely well marked as you can see here in this photo:
The trail is nice and wide unpaved natural surface, but very well maintained. You will see other trails marked throughout the park. There isn’t any sightseeing on the trail except for the beautiful large Live Oak Trees at the entrance to the trail.
There is a possibility that you could see some wildlife on the trail since it all woods. We saw many different types of birds, lizards and turtles. We even came across a Copperhead, so always keep an eye out for slithery friends.
All in all we really enjoyed our walk and look forward to going back to the park to try out the Disc Golf course.
