We couldn’t have picked a better time of year to take an afternoon hike on the Vickery Creek Trail Short Loop in Roswell, Georgia. The leaves were falling and the fall foliage was absolutely showing off. We actually almost turned around in the beginning because the first .4 miles is basically an uphill climb, which normally would be no big deal to us. Cassie is 24 weeks pregnant though so the uphill climb was pretty tough on her. Luckily she pushed through because the rest of the trail doesn’t have too much elevation change and we got the pleasure of seeing the beautiful Roswell Mill Waterfall (otherwise known as the Vickery Creek Waterfall) as shown here:
For nature lovers, and nature hikers this is a fantastic trail to hike on. Unfortunately, Cassie did trip and fall right before the descent down on the way back to the trail head. Hey, I tried to catch her! I grabbed her hand and almost held her up until I then tripped over a root and about fell myself. She did tweek her ankle but it could have been much worse. So just make sure you are very careful on this trail as it has a lot of roots and rocks that stick up.
This trail is part of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. There are many other trails in the Vickery Creek Park but this trail itself is about 2.2 miles long and you can find it on the Alltrails App here:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/georgia/vickery-creek-short-loop
