You want to see a canyon? How about one that isn’t so crowded? Or maybe one where you can actually see the bottom of without needing a telescope, ok fine binoculars? Yes the Grand Canyon is breathtaking, but it is pretty darn crowded as well. Well guess what! Just a few hours East of the Grand Canyon is the Canyon De Chelly National Monument. There is hardly any crowds here, unlike the Grand Canyon. You can hike down to the bottom and back up in the same day. You can see the beautiful farmland and river on the bottom. Oh and you can drive to the north rim and south rim of this canyon in the same day!
Our day trip to see this canyon was 100% worth it. Canyon De Chelly was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been too, and I’ve been to 48 out of 50 States. In my opinion this canyon should be on everyone’s bucket list.
The Canyon is located on the northeast side of Arizona. It’s about an hour and a half south of the 4 Corners, 3 Hours east of Flagstaff, and 4 and a half hours from Santa Fe, NM.
