Dry Lake Hills Trail – Flagstaff, AZ

The Dry Lake Hills Trail in Flagstaff Arizona is a very nice hike as you walk through the forest. You’ll meet many chipmunks along the way and as always a few squirrels. I did not do the full trail as I took the weanie trail for a slight short cut. Which is even less crowded and will make you feel like your even more in nature. Another fun thing is that you can only get to this trail via dirt roads.

If your going clock wise around the trail the 1.8 mile mark will stop you in your tracks as you will have breathtaking view of Mt. Humphreys. This vantage point will make you realize just how majestic Mt. Humphreys really is. This view also gives you the best Vantage point around to see it’s Volcanic shape as it was once 4000ft taller before it blew it’s top off.

The hike isn’t marked very well as far as telling you that your on the Dry Hills Lake Trail, but the other trails that you come in contact with are very well marked. Just make sure you have the All Trails App so you can view the map showing you which direction to follow.

If you are in the Flagstaff area you should check out Walnut Canyon.
