The Edisto Nature Trail is a .6 mile loop Trail is a great pit-stop along Savannah Highway ( Hwy 17) in Jacksonboro, SC (located between Beaufort and Charleston). It only takes 15-30 min to walk the trail depending on how much you stop and look around. Although, not a long trail the Edisto Nature Trail can provide you with the relaxation and little break you need from driving on your route from Charleston to Savannah.
Edisto Trail is different from other trails because it has what appears to be random bridges, steps, and trail boards along the way. However, they are not random. They are actually in case of flash flooding which can happen at any moment in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Make sure you are wearing some sort of insect repellent as this is the South Carolina Lowcountry and mosquitoes and gnats will get you.
Side note: If you are hungry be sure to check out the Ace Basin Fish Camp located about a quarter of a mile west of the trail.
