The Jack O Lantern Branch Trail is located at the Booker T. Washington National Monument. The trail is two miles long and very easy to walk. Our favorite part of the trail was the little barn with the farm animals inside of it.
We went in the middle of September and had perfect weather. It was a little over cast with high’s around 78 degrees. It was fairly uncrowded which always makes the trail more pleasurable. Throughout most of the trail you’ll be walking along the edge of a beautiful creek with plentiful shade. Along the trail you will learn about the history of this land and Booker T. Washington himself. Here is a couple pictures we took along the trail:
