On June 14th 2024 I walked the Jordan Homestead Trail in Ellsworth, Maine. The trail is located within minutes of downtown Ellsworth. The trail is a one mile loop that wonders around the Jordan Homestead Preserve. From the parking area the trail starts off in a meadow and then enters the woods.
I found this trail on the Alltrails App, as I usually do. I was looking for a short trail that I could walk to spend a little more time in the outdoors before heading back to the cabin. This trail fit the bill perfectly. The trail does have some elevation changes but nothing too crazy. The trail took me down to the Union River for some beautiful views. There were several spots to sit or stand on the rocks to take in the River Views.
I was the only one one trail. With the time of year that it was, I believe that means that this is a fairly quiet trail. Which makes some sense as most people hiking in he area are on trail inside Acadia National Park. Therefore, mostly only locals take advantage of this trail. I would recommend this trail to locals or visitors though. It is 100% worth it!
