V Bar V Heritage Site is located just a few minutes north of the Montezumah Castle National Monument. The heritage site is part of the Coconino National Forest, where it is protected and open to the public.
The V Bar V Heritage Site Trail itself is a wonderful .9 mile flat trail that runs parallel to a creek. You will not see the creek, but because the creek is there you experience a lush landscape. Make sure you visit the visitor center before going to down the trail, as you must sign in. This helps the park service with maintaining the property.
At the end of the trail you will see the largest known petroglyph in the Verde Valley – over 1,000 by the Sinagua people! If you are into Native American History then this trail is a must for you!

While in the area check out the Montezumah Castle National Monument, which is about 15 minutes away.
Notes: The trail is currently only open Friday – Monday 9:30am – 3pm (weather dependent). No water is available, bring your own. No pets allowed.
Cost: Red Rock Pass or America the Beautiful Pass.
